Being based in Cheltenham affords all sorts of exciting things, such as the Gold Cup, interesting shops, beautiful parks, and brilliant little eateries. Last year, one of our favourite places, Applebar, celebrated its third birthday. Hannah, who owns Applebar, decided to do something extra special, and so created a Birthday Cake Smoothie to mark the occasion. Even better, Hannah donated all of the proceeds from the sale of this rather splendid healthy treat to us!
Supporting The 100 Project was an easy choice – it's local like me, I have many regular customers amongst its fundraisers, and my mum was one of the 100 people photographed as part of the original campaign.
Hannah Mansfield, Owner at Applebar
Based in Winchcombe Street, Applebar is Cheltenham's only dedicated all-healthy juice and smoothie bar, and they prove that healthy can be tasty, too. With a range of juices, smoothies (our favourites being Nuttony Gluttony and the Organ-u-Tangy), some superfood latte hot drinks, and some fantastic soups, dhals, and salads.
We'd like to congratulate Hannah on her achievement. It's not always easy to run an independent business, especially as Cheltenham has been going through significant change over the last few years, and we're very proud to have Hannah's support. We're incredibly grateful to her and her customers for their generosity - thank you!
So, what did the Birthday Cake Smoothie taste like? Well, it tasted like all birthday cakes should - awesome!
